ME

Hi, I'm Finn from Augsburg, Germany, currently studying Creative Engineering at THA.

So, what exactly is Creative Engineering? It’s a combination of mechatronics and product design, an interdisciplinary field that allows me to bridge the gap between engineering and creative development. What really drives me is the passion behind it. Even outside of university, I enjoy working on personal projects, writing code, and designing and building new gadgets.

Through both my studies and hands-on project experience, I have developed a strong focus on the following areas:

I work extensively with microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators and have built a strong level of confidence and experience in this field. Through specialized modules in my studies, I have developed a solid understanding of electrical engineering. I regularly apply this knowledge in practice by designing my own circuit schematics and printed circuit boards (PCBs), allowing me to independently develop and build functional hardware prototypes.

Parametric construction, design, and simulation.

Depending on the use case, I construct parts parametrically, but I also have experience modeling organic shapes. In addition, I use modern methods such as generative design for visual and functional optimizations. I have also gained initial insights into finite element simulations (FEA) during my studies and applied them practically.

I have the most experience with Python, which I have used to implement several projects. I also have practical experience in developing websites and web applications. Modern AI tools are an integral part of my workflow; I use them in a targeted way to increase efficiency in programming, which enables me to tackle more complex and advanced projects.

Project management is a central part of my studies and has been an intensive focus over several semesters. It has provided me with a solid foundation for coordinating complex sub-projects and approaching tasks in a structured and team-oriented way. A key strength I bring is my interdisciplinary background, which allows me to understand both the engineering and design perspectives equally well. As a result, I see myself as a strong bridge between these fields, helping to align workflows and support clear and efficient team communication.
